Alexander Taylor, Ph.D.

Alexander Taylor is the vice president of research services at PMI BioPharma Solutions, and serves as an expert in the study of protein structure-function relationships. He is the author of 15 peer-reviewed publications and the inventor of eight issued U.S. patents, plus five pending patent applications in antibody engineering and commercial biotherapeutic protein expression.

Alexander joined PMI Bio following a successful 16-year long career at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK), where he was the head of the antibody engineering and the cell line development and banking departments.

Prior to GSK, Alexander pioneered humanization techniques at Centocor, Inc, where he contributed to the success of Reopro and Remicade, two of the earliest monoclonal antibody-based, FDA-approved biotherapeutics. He is an expert in antibody structure-function relationships and immune system genetics, as well as heterologous protein expression for commercial production of biotherapeutics.

Alexander’s scientific and industrial experience provides crucial insight into the current needs of the biotechnology industry as well as the direction needed to successfully translate nascent technology into commercially viable enterprise. He holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Montana.
